Puppets and Muppets

Many of you may not know this but I have a soft spot for puppetry and puppets. Maybe it was my obsession as a kid with the Muppet Show. It definitely carries through to adult hood since I ended up working a few times for the Henson's before I started at Columbia. They used to hold an International Festival of Puppetry at the Public Theater but they haven't done that in a number of years.

In any case, I just came a across a great puppet site:Sily Goose Toys. I think they are a great company.. well... at least from what I can see. We will find out more when I place my first order. May not happen for a while, but I this site has been bookmarked and thumbnailed.

Baby laughs

A friend at work just emailed this video clip. I think it visualizes yet another reason why I can't wait to meet my new baby. Make sure you have the sound up... this kid brilliant! Absolutely made my day!

Baby's Kicking

Yes, that's right, the little eggplant(we need a new nickname, I think) has been squirming and moving and even started kicking over the past couple days. Sherry had a restless night a few days back from a very active little one on the move. I think it is safe to say she is becoming a soccer mom a tad early. Hopefully baby will save the kicking for when it enters the world!

Rock a bye baby

Luca Glider

We're very excited to have ordered a glider (extra teaching has come in handy!). It will take 2-3 months to get here which is just in time for the kid. We went with the stone fabric with brown piping and an orange lumbar pillow. So we're moving right along with baby prep.

Meet the Eggplant

Our baby just got it's picture taken again yesterday. Getting sonors reminds me of when my Mom used to drag us to Sears to get our photo taken for the holiday. The eggplant is 8" and over 1lb! We're 23 weeks down 16.5 to go. So it is very exciting. Eggplant really can express itself and moves around a lot (sort of like a fish in the dark bumping up against the tank glass). However, you can not feel eggplant from the outside yet. If you can read a sonogram let me know the gender -- by adding a comment. Gerard wouldn't allow the tech to tell me ;) According to the heart rate it's a boy (heart rate does not correlate to gender -- yet another old wives tale!) and according to the Chinese lunar calendar it's a girl. So, there you are 1 in 2 odds.

It's a busy time for us but not with baby. We will resume baby tasks in April right now we can coast while we work on other things. In April we'll be able to report on nursery construction.
