While we were out and about last weekend, we had fries and wings again at our favorite lunch spot. It is now Brandy's favorite lunch spot.... she knows she gets fries there! You can see her excitement in these pics.

Brandy loves it when we take her to the stadium restaurant. I think
she likes the fries from there best! Here she is just having a blast,
enjoying lunch with mom and dad. I an sure she will eventually join us
in devouring wings. Mild, hot or 911 Brandy! Alas, we'll have to wait
'til you have teeth at the very least! Ha ha!!!

A pretty simple yet fun BBQ, weather held out and turned into the best weather day of the holiday weekend. She is taking many steps but not completely walking yet. She had a great day, as did everyone celebrating with us!

Just before Sherry met Brandy and I to go home (this past Friday), the babe and I went to Stephanie's rooftop for some refreshments (remember, it was super humid last Friday.) A bunch of my coworkers were there enjoying a nice happy hour with a great view of the river. Here is a nice shot of Brandy relaxing, reclining in mid-air. This kid really knows how to take everything in stride!

In the Park with Lucien

This past Friday, we all took a trip to the city. Brandy and Sherry spent the morning together. Then we all meet and had lunch with friends. Then Sherry went down to Chelsea to gallery hop while Brandy and I went to Riverside Park to play with Lucien. Martin and I had Lucien and Brandy in swings and hanging out on a park bench taking in the sights. Rachel came by to pick up Lucien, while Martin and I (and Brandy of course) went on to our next plans before Sherry met us to head back home. Here are some pictures Martin and I took of the kids playing in the park. We can't wait to do it again... soon!!

Mmmmmmm.... Ice Cream!!

Brandy tried eating some ice cream yesterday at the Bloome's BBQ. All the other kids had some, so Brandy wanted some too. She liked the taste but also liked exploring the cup especially the bottom. Hence she dumped her scoop into Sherry's hand. A yummy messy time was had and this is, I am sure, only the beginning of Brandy's love of the summer time treat!

Father's Day weekend

This past weekend was an absolute whirlwind.... way to many things going on. Brandy had a blast over the Wilson's house (Suzie, Mike and Brian) since there were about 10 kids running around. She was right in the middle in regards to age, as the kids range from 5 years to 5 months (roughly.)

Earlier Saturday, Brandy had a visit with Sheila (well She really came to hang with Sherry but Brandy enjoyed the visit too!) Brandy and I hung out in the pool while Sherry and Sheila caught up on art, friends, cats, and whatever else. Sheila took this nice snap of Sherry and Brandy after lunch.

Well, it's been almost three months since our last posting. We three do apologize to those who have been checking back regularly to find nothing new. This past spring semester has wiped out both Sherry and I... not to say that we are any less busy now (go figure!)

But enough is enough! Brandy is growing by leaps and bounds. No new words since the last post but boy is she turned into a little energizer bunny. She crawls EVERYWHERE and is on the brink of her first steps ( in the next few weeks I'm sure.) She stands and cruises on all the furniture, stands on her own, and takes steps when you hold her hands. Like I said she is getting big. I think over the next few days we will be posting some catch up images and video, just to show you what has been happening since mid March. Then we will be back to new content, since Brandy is less than a month away from her first Birthday!!!

Ma ma ma.... MOM!

And so, after months of trying, Brandy has finally learned to say "mom". She said it a few sporadic times for Sherry over Friday-Saturday that I didn't hear. But Sunday evening before her bath, Brandy went on a spree of "ma, ma, mom" lasting about 10 minutes, a bunch of which I caught with the camera.

It took almost the entire winter to finally get a big enough snow storm to give us a blanket of the white stuff to play in. We bundle the little girl up and marched out into the snow. While she might have been intrigued for a second or two, it was too cold for her liking.

I think she might be more of a beach baby! YES!!

Valentine's Day

Brandy Taylor had a lovely Valentines day! She got surprises she hadn't anticipated included Sponge Bob bath letters - a hit. Below is a big pink heart from Grandma that she untied herself, afterwhich, she rolled over her mat in delight. These are my two all time favorites of Brandy so far that I wanted to share -- clothes and towel turbines are my favs. Brandy is already well into the computer -- she won't stick to her laptop which is why I now type with one hand :) Hope your Valentine's day was filled with lovely treats. xo

Yes, Brandy was less than impressed with the jolly old elf this first Christmas. And with all the hugs, kisses and presents she received from her grandmas, the Claus' were a distant second. I am sure next year will be a different story as munchkin becomes more and more aware of the holiday season, the festivities and the arrival of St. Nicholas on Christmas eve.

As promised, I will be posting some Christmas videos soon (in a day or two.)

Sherry likes reading to Brandy before bedtime, all snuggled up in the red chair. Brandy likes books most of the times, unless she is preoccupied with hunger or the television or some other interesting bit of big people stuff. We mix it up every other night between Seuss and all the other books she has. Since we have Brandy enrolled in the Seuss club, she gets two knew full size books a month. This gets her started on her collection as well as leave us some of the smaller books for presents in the future.

Here Sherry is reading her the Grinch! The three of us caught the animated version on the tv ealrier this week. Brandy was glued to the set. I think she found the Whos very funny. In any case, she loves the book version especially when mommy uses different voices for the characters. I think Sherry does a great Cindy-Lou Who don't you?

Eating like a big Girl!

Yes, Brandy has started to eat cereal. She has been sampling mixed cereal this evening. Last week she was eating oatmeal and the week before we started her out on rice. She likes it all really, but oatmeal the best so far. Just look at this snap from Friday's dinner...

She will be 5 months old this week (on the 6th) and I think she will get her first taste of fruits! Apples first and then pears, just so we can see if she is allergic to either of them. Since Sherry and I don't have any food allergies (except for sherry's dairy issues) I think Brandy should be okay with most edibles.

Some kids like to be rocked to sleep, some babes will conk off in a swing, while still others are snoring in a car seat before you've driven a mile.

Brandy? She LOVES her bouncy seat. This bungied ring of spring-loaded fun is one of her favorite places to play. She will talk and sing, coo and drool for hours... all the while trying to bounce herself into orbit.

But every so often she just bounces herself into a snooze. She just keeps on springing until the little tank is empty. She has on a number of occasions passed out in mid bounce! Don't believe me? Proof is in the pictures!
