The Way We Were

This is how we looked at Gerard's cousin's wedding in August. I did a dumb thing and started to look at pre-pregnancy photos and realized the extent of my transformation to 5-months pregnant. My bump is big enough that people notice the weight gain but are still afraid to ask if I'm expecting. The morphing process is a bit awkward. The baby is moving about and feels like a little bug underneath your skin crawling around. I can't wait until it grows to coconut size so I can really feel it. I feel good and am really thankful for it. I can still zippidy do dah save I poop out much earlier than before. We still do fun things and have recently went downtown to see Erin McKeown play, I got to go to the Outsider Art Fair, and made the Doug Aitken videos. I think it's really important to get out and about and enjoy the easy transport of your new symbiotic parasite. No need to even tote a diaper bag yet. We have a few more fun things coming up before the onion arrives. I'm really looking forward to starting on the nursery! Our furniture is arriving shortly so it's time to get out the paint brushes. I think it will take a lot of convincing to get me to do a big bellied photo shoot but G is lobbying hard.

You really should eventually do some pregnant belly photos! You're unlikely to regret it later -- it's a great memento to have.

In any case, congratulations on the new addition to your family! I'd like to invite you to join the Healthy Birth forum on Kaboodle. In addition to a wealth of information on pregnancy and birth, our collection includes breastfeeding, postpartum, and parenting resources. Hope to see you there!

Best regards,
- Wendy
